This project supports service users with a learning disability to have a say about the quality of the care and support they receive. We have a new team of trained Quality Checkers all of whom have an experience of receiving support
Quality Checkers chat with people using different approaches to see if they are getting the right support to live the life they want. Using locally agreed standards and frameworks for care and support, the team write a report, outlining what they have seen and heard and giving some recommendations. With the support of a project worker the report is shared with the provider, services users, contract monitoring officers and commissioners. The information is used to ensure that quality services are being delivered.
The team of Quality Checkers also help to facilitate consultation events ensuring that the views and wishes of people with a learning disability influence the commissioning of new services.
