Mandy Taviner (Manager)Mandy Taviner
Manager

It’s my job to make sure that we continue to provide excellent advocacy services in Warrington. I oversee the new advocacy hub, support the ongoing development of Warrington Speak Up and encourage the development of partnership working opportunities. I also do my fair share of washing up and making drinks. Looking after dogs, chickens and grandchildren keeps me out of mischief. It is a privilege to be part of such an enthusiastic team of staff, trustees and self-advocates, championing advocacy across Warrington.
Pip Horne(Project Co-ordinator) Pip Horne
Projects Co-ordinator

I have responsibility for developing self-advocacy projects across the organisation. This involves lots of group work and events. I really enjoy using my artistic skills to help people have a voice as well as generating income by providing graphic facilitation for other organisations. In my spare time I act as a licenced lay reader in the Diocese of Chester, I’m a goalkeeper for Lymm Hockey club and I’m determined to get my fitness back to run 5 and 10K races, watch this space!

Your Life, Your Say Project Co-ordinator

I provide lots of different types of advocacy support to eligible residents of Warrington. I also co-ordinate the Your Life, Your Say Project which provides advocacy for older people in care homes. In both roles my job is to support people to understand their rights and responsibilities, explore options, make informed choices and find the best way of getting their views and opinions heard.
val Val Higgins
Independent Advocate

My role is to support people to have a voice, understand and protect their rights and take an active role in decisions relating to their care and support. The best part of my job is that it’s never the same and I get the opportunity to work alongside lots of different people. When I’m not at work I like to indulge my passion for watching black and white movies usually accompanied by a glass of red wine.
Ellen Ellen Feria

My name is Ellen and I am an advocate at Warrington Speak Up. I am especially passionate about advocacy for parents who may find themselves in very difficult circumstances. In all my work I try to support people to feel respected and a valued part of the community and to ensure their rights are upheld. In my spare time I enjoy going to musicals, comedy nights and having a pizza afterwards!
Cathy Cathy Wood
Administrator

My role is to provide administrative support to Warrington Speak Up. In my spare time I like to go away in our trailer tent with my family, trusting that the great British weather will be kind to us!
Matt Rive Matt Rive
Independent Advocate

Hello, I'm Matt and I'm an independent advocate. When plans and meetings are taking place around your life, sometimes this can be confusing and difficult to have your say. My job is to help people in these circumstances to understand what is going on and help them to say what they want to say. I love my job because I like to help people and I like the variety of doing lots of different things and meeting lots of different people. Children's Social Care is my area of expertise but I enjoy working in other areas too. Outside of work I like reading about history, visiting old sites and buildings. I have a metal detector and I hope to find some forgotten treasure one day! I also love music and comedy so I enjoy going to shows and concerts with my girlfriend.
Ged Roberts Ged Roberts
Independent Advocate (IMHA specialist)

I have been involved in mental health law, training and advocacy work for over 30 years. I am passionate about helping those experiencing mental health difficulties and my own personal experience has only empowered me to both understand and help others more, making sure that only the very best advocacy is delivered. I have a pet dog named “JACK” who is a registered “Pets As Therapy” dog who I also use as an “Advocacy Dog”. JACK has come to different hospitals with me, attends tribunals and meetings and has himself supported patients!
Stevie Lee Stevie-Lee Byrne
Hello! Project Worker

My name is Stevie-Lee and I’m the Hello! project worker. My job is to let people know about events and activities available to have fun and make friends. I enjoy meeting lots of people and working with different support providers. I’m passionate about helping the people I meet to live full, happy lives. I have a pet cat called Dolly I adore, she’s my baby. In my spare time I like to go out with my friends and family to the theatre and to eat great tapas. I also enjoy using my National Trust membership to take my mum’s husky dog for big walks in beautiful places. My slightly guilty pleasure is visiting food and drink markets, but I end up spending my money on cheese and red wine, which isn’t helpful because I’m trying to get my fitness level up to walk Hadrian’s wall and climb Snowdon next year (for my big birthday).
