Mandy Taviner (Manager)Mandy Taviner
Manager

It’s my job to make sure that we continue to provide excellent advocacy services in Warrington. I oversee the new advocacy hub, support the ongoing development of Warrington Speak Up and encourage the development of partnership working opportunities. I also do my fair share of washing up and making drinks. Looking after dogs, chickens and grandchildren keeps me out of mischief. It is a privilege to be part of such an enthusiastic team of staff, trustees and self-advocates, championing advocacy across Warrington.
Pip Horne(Project Co-ordinator) Pip Horne
Projects Co-ordinator

I have responsibility for developing self-advocacy for adults with a learning disability, and also co-ordinate the project work across the organisation. This involves lots of group work, events and liaising strategically to make sure that people are listened to as services are developed. I really enjoy using my artistic skills to help people have a voice as well as generating income by providing graphic facilitation for other organisations. In my spare time I act as a licenced lay reader in the Diocese of Chester and help to edit our local Parish Magazine.

In both roles my job is to support people to understand their rights and responsibilities, explore options, make informed choices and find the best way of getting their views and opinions heard.

My role is to support people to have a voice, understand and protect their rights and take an active role in decisions relating to their care and support. The best part of my job is that it’s never the same and I get the opportunity to work alongside lots of different people. When I’m not at work I like to indulge my passion for watching black and white movies usually accompanied by a glass of red wine.

Matt Rive Matt Rive
Independent Advocate

Hello, I'm Matt and I'm an independent advocate. When plans and meetings are taking place around your life, sometimes this can be confusing and difficult to have your say. My job is to help people in these circumstances to understand what is going on and help them to say what they want to say. I love my job because I like to help people and I like the variety of doing lots of different things and meeting lots of different people. Children's Social Care is my area of expertise but I enjoy working in other areas too. Outside of work I like reading about history, visiting old sites and buildings. I have a metal detector and I hope to find some forgotten treasure one day! I also love music and comedy so I enjoy going to shows and concerts with my girlfriend.

Jess Jess Greatwood
Independent Advocate
Social Media Co-ordinator

My name is Jess, and I’m an independent advocate for Speak Up. My job is to help people have their voices heard and listened to when they are experiencing difficult times in their lives. Everyone should have the opportunity to be supported, respected, and have their rights upheld. My job is great because I get to work with many different people who teach me new things every day. In my spare time I really enjoy playing the piano and singing, as well as the occasional TV series binge. My favourite thing to do is to go to concerts to see live music and listen to great bands. I am trying to build my fitness up and like going to the gym. I also have a hamster at home called Carlos who is very naughty and is good at escaping from his cage!
