We continue to thrive as the lead provider of advocacy in Warrington.
Advocacy Quality Performance Mark
Warrington Speak Up are both delighted and proud to have been awarded in July 2021, the Quality Performance Mark (QPM) from the National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTi).
The QPM is the UK’s only independent quality performance mark for organisations offering independent advocacy; an essential service for people who need support to express their needs and have increased choice and control in their lives.
The Advocacy Quality Performance Mark is only awarded to advocacy organisations who can demonstrate that they are providing excellent services to people often experiencing challenging situations in their lives. It indicates that they have the training and policies in place to ensure people’s rights are upheld and their preferences are heard and responded to.
This award demonstrates our continuing commitment to providing high quality advocacy services to the people who need it most.
The culture and ethos at Warrington Speak Up is extremely strong; the emphasis on excellence in advocacy delivery alongside the equally valued emphasis on staff wellbeing came through in all conversations held during the site visit.
Throughout the QPM process it was evident that Warrington Speak Up provides highly person led, person centred and empowering advocacy services.
We are passionate about our local communities, prioritising equal access to advocacy services and working in partnership with statutory services and community organisations to meet the needs of Warrington residents.
Warrington Speak Up is a well-established organisation that is completely embedded and well known within the community it serves…
They demonstrated an extremely robust approach to understanding the needs of the population served…
There is culture of involvement – it is clear that ‘people’ are at the heart of the organisation and all services provided.
All members of the team work tirelessly on behalf of the people they support, seeking to empower the individual, ensuring their voice is heard and respected and upholding their rights.
It is clear that advocates at Warrington Speak Up are committed and tenacious and follow issues through to seek outcomes and resolution of issues.
The team demonstrate a deep understanding of people’s rights and entitlements, including human rights.
This award is testament to the efforts, passion and commitment of the staff team, and the support, encouragement, and wisdom of a dedicated board of trustees.
However whilst celebrating this achievement, we also recognise in these challenging times, the importance of maintaining our high standards, exploring creative ways to enhance current services and look to develop new initiatives to meet increased demand.
The QPM process and award provides a positive framework in which Warrington Speak Up can continue to uphold the principles of advocacy charter, reflect on good practice, strengthen quality advocacy provision, and meet the needs of the communities we serve.
